FAQs
Why Should I Work With A Travel Advisor?
Think of us as your expert guide to the places you've been dreaming about. We take destinations that can feel intimidating to plan and make them beautifully accessible.
We save you time. Planning a complex trip can easily take 20+ hours. We handle the research and logistics so you don't have to.
We provide insider access. Our established relationships with trusted partners worldwide mean you get VIP treatment, exclusive perks like room upgrades and resort credits, and experiences you can't book on your own.
You get expertly crafted journeys, personalized recommendations, and complete peace of mind—from planning through your return home.
Do You Charge Planning Fees?
Yes. Our planning fees reflect the expertise, time, and care that go into designing your adventure. Planning trips to extraordinary destinations requires significant research, trusted connections, and meticulous coordination—far beyond what a simple booking involves.
When you work with us, you're investing in destination knowledge, access to experiences you can't find on your own, and an advocate who handles every detail. Our fees ensure we give your journey the personalized attention it deserves, and in exchange, you get a seamlessly crafted adventure backed by complete peace of mind. You can find more about our fee structure on our services page.
How Far In Advance Should I Book?
For optimal availability and planning, 6 to 9 months in advance. However, in high season and for African safaris and some river and expedition cruises, at least 12 months in advance is recommended for better lodging and cabin availability.
Do you recommend travel insurance?
Yes! We strongly encourage all of our clients to purchase travel insurance. Your vacation is a significant investment, and you should always financially protect yourself and your travel plans in the event of any unforeseen circumstances. You want to be compensated for cancellations, lost baggage, unexpected health issues, or other emergencies that can occur while traveling.
When we work with you, we can refer you to trusted travel insurance providers who can help you choose the right coverage for your needs.
Do you book Airbnb or VRBO rentals?
No. We have no way to verify property conditions or recourse if something goes wrong, including last-minute owner cancellations. Since we can't advocate for you or protect your interests with those platforms, we choose not to use them.
However, we do work with trusted partners who offer professionally managed and vetted villas and home rentals that meet our 4- and 5- star standards, often with added perks. These properties give you the space and privacy you're looking for, with the reliability and support you deserve.
Do you book airline tickets?
We welcome you to book your own domestic and international airfare. We will gladly incorporate your flight information into your itinerary on a complimentary basis. Alternatively, we can book your international air ticket, if you prefer. If not bundled with a package, there will be a $50 service fee per ticket (maximum $150 per family). Please note that should you wish to use points or miles to book your ticket, you will need to book on your own.
